Cycling the highest motorable passes on earth with steep ascends and descends poses certain challenges even for the pros and for this, cyclists around the world love to go fir it once in their lifetime. Crossing five high altitude mountain passes, the arid cold deserts, several rivers and lakes, the journey unfolds the glorious Himalayas at their best. The richness of the culture here adds a charm to the journey. Words aren’t enough to describe this amazing experience. Just buckle up and come along..

Trip Itinerary

• We welcome you at Manali by the morning today. On arrival check into your stay, rest for a while and freshen up as today we will acclimatize our body for the journey to come.
• A ride to Old Manali will do it for the day.
• Evening get back to the stay. Dinner and overnight at stay.
• Today, we embark towards our first day of the trip.
• We start our ascent towards the famous Rohtang Pass (3978m) through forest of Pine and Deodar and enthralling views of the Pir Panjal ranges.
• Today we will camp at Marhi – 12km short of Rohtang Pass.
• Dinner and overnight at camps.
• Following the zig – zag roads to Rohtang La (3978m) which is an 18km ascent providing scenic views of the Spiti Valley and various Himalaya peaks.
• Cycling downhill from the Pass is a delight in itself and the disappearance of traffic along with it after Gramphu adds a charm to it.
• We cycle along the river Chandra and take a short detour to finally reach Sissu.
• Overnight stay.
• Today our trip will be full of ascents and descents. At the start we face a steady climb to Gondla
While later a fast descend to Tandi (situated at the confluence of Chandra and the Bhaga river).
• Today one can easily notice the decrease in vegetation cover with landscape becoming barren while on the way.
• From Tandi we climb to Keylong and descend to Jispa to stay here for the night.
• Overnight at Jispa.
• Today we start our onward journey towards Zing – Zing Bar.
• The landscape will become totally barren and rocky today with views of the mighty Himalayas parallel to your sight.
• Stay at Zing – Zing Bar for the night.
• Today the day starts with an steep ascent to Baralach La pass.
• The terrain becomes proves to be challenging today with views of Suraj Tal to Soothe you up.
• After crossing the pass we paddle downwards to reach Sarchu.
• Dinner and overnight.
• The journey starts early morning as it’s a long day to go.
• We will be crossing the famous 21 loops of Gata.
• By the day we will climb two passes Nakli La (4800m) & Lachalung La Pass (5100m).
• From Lachalung La Pass it’s an easy ride down to Pang.
• Overnight at Pang.
• From Pang today our voyage begins, after a steep ascent of 8kms we reach the Mori Plains.
• Passing Rupshu we cycle towards Tso Kar lake to camp here for the day.
• We will be climbing up to Tanglang- La (5360m) also known as the second highest motorable pass in the world.
• Upon arrival at Tanglang- La the Karakoram range becomes clearly visible.
• From this point it’s a joyous descent towards Lato
• Dinner and overnight at Lato.
• The tough part of the ride is over, now the easy part towards Leh begins.
• The landscape changes dramatically here with views of small villages, Stupas, vegetation and plant life.
• We cycle by the side of Indus river to reach Leh.
• On arrival at Leh. Check – into your stay, dinner and overnight.
• The final climb of our journey begins.
• Today we will be cycling to the highest motorable pass on earth, the Khardung La (5602m).
• The Pass presents mesmerizing views of the Indus Valley along with the Zanskar and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
• Later, we descent to Leh. Dinner and overnight stay
• Today we wish you a good bye, as our journey ends here.

• Accommodation in Swiss Camps/ Alpine Camps/Dome camps/Homestays/ Guesthouse on double sharing basis. • Meals starting from Dinner on Day 01 to breakfast on day last. • CAmping charges, forest permits, and any other entry fee. • Support vehicle with ratio of 1 for every 6 participants. • Hospitable and experienced staff to cater your needs. • First aid kit (our Trip Leaders/ Guides are certified in handling first aid situations) • Oxygen cylinder (both portable and 10ltrs) for the group • Energy bars, drinks and other refreshments while on the trip.

The standard administrative charge of 10% of the cost of the total trip – Not refundable any point of time • Between 60 - 30 days: 25% of the total Trip Cost • Between 29 - 20 days: 50% of the total Trip Cost • Between 19 - 10 days: 75% of the total Trip Cost • Less than 9 days from the date of departure: 100% of the total Trip Cost

Other information

• It is mandatory to carry the following documents along with you. Document 2 needs to be downloaded, filled in duly signed and handed over to the Trip Leader at the Base camp. 1. Original and photocopy of government photo identity card- (driving license, voters ID, etc.) 2. Indemnity form to be filled by the traveller Indemnity Bond OM
• It is utmost important to notify Outdoor Monks with any pertaining medical and health conditions before booking of the trip. • Outdoor Monks strongly prohibit the intake of alcohol and smoking while on the trip. • Outdoor Monks strongly insists all our fellow traveller to consider minimum and maximum age limit of each trip. Not doing so will result in cancellation of the trip. • Outdoor Monks remains stiff upon all information presented for a trip. Please read all the documents relating to the itinerary, inclusions, exclusions, cancellation policy, trip essentials, terms, and conditions.
• If the trip gets cancelled at the last moment due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances. Outdoor Monks will issue a voucher for the full trip cost which can be redeemed for the same or any other trip during a period of next six months. • Outdoor Monks does not hold the liability for any loss/damage of personal belonging while on the trip. • 30% Advance to be deposited at the time of booking confirmation (non-refundable). • Full payment before 12 days from the date of starting the Tour (non-refundable). • While on the trip.
