About This Trip

Gradually adding to your mountaineering skills, Indrahar Pass acts as a true addon for beginners looking to hone their experience level with trekking up a height of 4342ft over a four-day long trip. Indrahar Pass is situated in the Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh and starts from Mcleodganj with the trail passing through Triund, Illaqa and Lahesh Caves. Though being a much preferred Gaddi route for a long time, the ridge proves to be challenging but is worth the try, as upon arrival it presents you with 360° views, starting from Kangra Valley in the south to Mani Mahesh in the east – Kishtwar over the west and mighty ranges of Himalayas like the Pir Panjal over north.

Trip Itinerary

Report at the Base Camp Mcleodganj Bus Stand before 10:00 AM, our representative will be available to greet you up at this point. From here the enthralling trek towards Triund begins. Trek is fairly easy for the first five kilometers but the last one kilometer may require a bit of toil, the last one kilometer is popularly known as the “22 curves” as it has 22 tiring curves before you finally reach Triund. Along the way there are many small chai shops where one can refresh during the hike.
It will take us about 4-5 hours approx. to reach Triund. The traipse is worth it as the panorama when you reach triund is awe-inspiring with beautiful views of whole Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other. On arrival at Triund check into your beautiful campsite. The day is yours to enjoy around leisure time and click some pics for a memory. Evening, enjoy bonfire with snacks. Later, overnight stay at camps.
Today after breakfast we start our trek towards Laka Got – the base for Indrahar Pass. Today we will ascend through green meadows and rocky terrain towards Snowline Café – which is the last place you will find here to buy any essentials for the trip further. Further ascending we cross a gurgling stream to reach Laka Got where we will camp for the day. Overnight stay at camps.
Wake up today and enjoy the sunrise as today is the day we finally mark our presence upon the much awaited Indrahar Pass. We will start our ascend early after breakfast today as it’s a long way to go. The terrain today is mostly rocky and full of boulders with minimal signs of vegetation around. The difficulty today will be much more as compared to the earlier days and at some parts will become challenging. It will take us about 5-6hrs to reach the summit through Lahesh Caves and is worth the try.
Upon arrival at the summit get amazed with the awesome views and cheer alas! As you finally did it.
After, enjoying the views and resting for a while it’s finally time to descend back to Laka Got, the descend can be a difficult one, as the rocks become slippery at times with steep descend. We will reach Lakagot by the evening.
Enjoy your accomplishment today, and rest. Overnight stay at camps.
